National Curriculum Key Stage 2: History

Take a deep dive into the history of the Lascelles family, the origins of the House and its links to the Transatlantic Slave Trade.

Our expert team will guide your class through a variety of themes from Harewood’s challenging past.

They will be introduced to the Lascelles’ plantations in Barbados by exploring 19th century maps, historic images and engaging in group discussion.

Pupils will also be given time to explore the House in the context of the family’s wealth and where it came from, before revisiting our workshop space to engage with our unique primary source material.
