Children will explore painting techniques and patterns inspired by Harewood House to create an abstract painting.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Get crafty and make a 3D Mother’s Day card to surprise your loved ones.

Children will create a design inspired by Harewood’s wonderful landscape and wildlife in the springtime.

They will then use polystyrene squares, printing ink and rollers to make a repeated pattern that is printed on coloured paper.

To celebrate the launch of our new exhibition, children are encouraged to explore using ink to create a Turner-inspired landscape.

Children will make their very own miniature of their pet, friend or family member inspired by the portraits of the Regency Era!

All participants are encouraged to bring along a reference photo.

Inspired by David Hockney’s swimming pool paintings, children will experiment with marbling techniques to create a ‘water’ effect.

Children will create a 3D summer scene, inspired by a holiday or summer memory.

Using log slices sourced by Harewood’s fantastic grounds team, children will paint interesting patterns and designs using the natural texture of the wood.

Children will create a stained-glass effect lantern with a tealight on a spooky theme.

Fancy dress is encouraged!

Children will build on their skills using oil pastels to create observational drawings of colourful leaves and seeds found in Harewood’s grounds.

It’s Christmas! Children will create their very own Christmas decoration to hang on their tree at home.
